In The Bathroom Is Where I Want You

Nightmare Of You
"Nightmare Of you"
With so many bands today electing to emulate, or more specifically copy, the sound of that one band that did it and got famous; it's rare to find a band that draws from the same influences yet is unique in a way so many other bands only wish they were. Composed of the former Movielife guitarist and the drummer from Rival Schools, Nightmare Of You is able to avoid the typical formulaic potholes that trap so many other bands of similar influence. Drawing heavily on the sounds of The Smiths and The Cure, combined with tongue in cheek lyrics, Nightmare Of You has created an album thats amazingly catchy and relevant at the same time. What really stands out to the listener once you get past the amazingly catchy verses, is the lyrical content. The lyrics range from songs about hitch hiking prostitutes with enlarged thumbs, to surprisingly deep lyrics that might remind one of a certain lead singer for The Smiths. Overall Nightmare of you is able to uniquely combine musical influences from The Cure, with lyrics whose lineage can be traced back to The Smiths, but delightfully more vulgar.
Hey dainty girl flailing on the side of the road
With your great thumb in the air
I hope you don't mind me asking
But what happened to your underwear?
And does your humble husband know?
Of 'ee hitchin' seedy path
With car-operating sexual deviants!
But Julian would never understand
And doesn't he know?
Just because he's a painter and he loves you
It doesn't mean that he has got a clue...
...About my Thumbelina
I've never seen a pair of digits quite like yours before
And I have traveled shore to shore in such arduous pallor
Your almost perfect body's got me quivering in a ball
To that brash cowgirl with her hands petting your crotch
And humping you in towering grass
Naked and gender-bending
What makes you think the two of you will last?
With your great thumb in the air
I hope you don't mind me asking
But what happened to your underwear?
And does your humble husband know?
Of 'ee hitchin' seedy path
With car-operating sexual deviants!
But Julian would never understand
And doesn't he know?
Just because he's a painter and he loves you
It doesn't mean that he has got a clue...
...About my Thumbelina
I've never seen a pair of digits quite like yours before
And I have traveled shore to shore in such arduous pallor
Your almost perfect body's got me quivering in a ball
To that brash cowgirl with her hands petting your crotch
And humping you in towering grass
Naked and gender-bending
What makes you think the two of you will last?
Sounds Like: The Smiths, The Cure, Say Anything, Socratic
